Prohibition of Intoxicants and Wine

SUMMARY: Intoxicants and wine are prohibited.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: "Every intoxicant is Khamr (wine) and every Khamr is unlawful".
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ خَمْرٌ وَكُلُّ خَمْرٍ حَرَامٌ
