Prohibition of Intoxicants

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has forbidden the consumption of any intoxicants.

It was narrated from Ibn Mas’ud that the Messenger of Allah said: "Every intoxicant is unlawful".
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ هَانِئٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ مَاجَهْ هَذَا حَدِيثُ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn Masud states that the Prophet Muhammad has forbidden the consumption of any intoxicants.
