The Benefits of Quince

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ encouraged Talhah to take quince as it soothes the heart.

It was narrated that Talhah said: "I entered upon the Prophet and in his hand was some quince. He said: 'Take it, O Talhah, for it soothes the heart.’"
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّلْحِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا نُقَيْبُ بْنُ حَاجِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الزُّبَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ، قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ وَبِيَدِهِ سَفَرْجَلَةٌ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ دُونَكَهَا يَا طَلْحَةُ فَإِنَّهَا تُجِمُّ الْفُؤَادَ
