Follow instructions from prophets and apostles

This hadith speaks to the importance of following the guidance given by prophets and apostles. Mujahid asked Ibn 'Abbas if they should perform a prostration when reciting Surat-Sa'd. In response, Ibn 'Abbas recited verses from Surat-Sa'd which includes instructions to follow their guidance. He then said that Prophet Muhammad was amongst those people who have been ordered to follow them. This hadith emphasizes that it is important for us to follow the teachings of prophets and apostles in order to be guided in our lives. It also reminds us that Prophet Muhammad was one such prophet who followed this instruction himself as an example for us all.
