Praying During Menses

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) advised Aisha to stop praying during her menses and to take a bath after it has finished in order to be able to pray again.

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet said to me, "Give up the prayer when your menses begin and when it has finished, wash the blood off your body (take a bath) and start praying".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic Law , Respect its Teachings , Maintain Physical Hygiene
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised his wife, Aisha, that when she was having her menses, she should not pray. This is because the Islamic law states that women are not allowed to perform their prayers while they are menstruating. After the menses have finished, however, they must take a bath known as ghusl in order for them to be able to perform their prayers again. This hadith teaches us that we must follow the laws of Islam and respect its teachings even if we do not understand why certain things are prohibited or encouraged. It also teaches us about cleanliness and how important it is for us as Muslims to maintain our physical hygiene in order for us to be able fulfill our religious obligations properly.
