Prohibiting Killing Certain Animals

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad forbade the killing of four kinds of animals.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah forbade killing four kinds of animals: Ants, bees, hoopoes and shrikes".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ عَنْ قَتْلِ أَرْبَعٍ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ النَّمْلَةِ وَالنَّحْلِ وَالْهُدْهُدِ وَالصُّرَدِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of killing certain animals, as narrated by Ibn 'Abbas.
