Eating Locusts as Game of the Sea

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ instructed his companions to eat locusts as they were a type of game from the sea.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "We went out with the Prophet for Hajj or 'Umrah, and we encountered a swarm of locusts or a type of locust. We started hitting them with out whips and sandals. The Prophet said: 'Eat them for they are the game of the sea.’"
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ فِي حَجَّةٍ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنَا رِجْلٌ مِنْ جَرَادٍ أَوْ ضَرْبٌ مِنْ جَرَادٍ فَجَعَلْنَا نَضْرِبُهُنَّ بِأَسْوَاطِنَا وَنِعَالِنَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ كُلُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ صَيْدِ الْبَحْرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad instructed his companions to eat locusts when they encountered a swarm during their journey for Hajj or 'Umrah. He said that these locusts were a type of game from the sea, and thus it was permissible for them to consume them. This hadith teaches us that we should be grateful for whatever sustenance Allah provides us with, even if it may not seem appetizing at first glance. It also teaches us that we should always seek knowledge and guidance from our religious leaders in order to make sure we are following Islamic teachings correctly. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us that Allah is All-Knowing and All-Wise, and He knows what is best for His creation.
