Hunting Game with an Arrow

SUMMARY: If you shoot an animal and find your arrow in it, then you can eat it.

It was narrated that 'Adi bin Hatim said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what if I shoot the game but it vanishes at night?’ He said: 'If you find your arrow in it and you do not find anything else, then eat it.’"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرْمِي الصَّيْدَ فَيَغِيبُ عَنِّي لَيْلَةً قَالَ ‏ "‏ إِذَا وَجَدْتَ فِيهِ سَهْمَكَ وَلَمْ تَجِدْ فِيهِ شَيْئًا غَيْرَهُ فَكُلْهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about hunting animals with arrows. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked by 'Adi bin Hatim what to do if he shot a game but it vanished at night. The Prophet ﷺ replied that if he found his arrow in the animal, then he could eat it. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful when hunting animals and make sure that we are certain of our target before shooting our arrows. It also teaches us to be responsible for our actions and take responsibility for any harm caused by them, even if the animal has disappeared or died due to the arrow shot by us. We should also be mindful of the consequences of our actions and take responsibility for them accordingly.
