According to this hadith, it was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to slaughter animals at the prayer place during Eid. This is a practice that has been done for centuries and is still practiced today in many parts of the world. It is a way of showing gratitude and appreciation for all that Allah has given us, as well as an act of worship and remembrance of Him.
