Generosity of Makkan Houses

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr and Umar died and the houses in Makkah were still free for anyone to live in without asking for rent.

It was narrated that 'Alqamah bin Nadlah said: "The Messenger of Allah , Abu Bakr and 'Umar died, and the houses in Makkah were still called free. Whoever needed to, lived there, and whoever had no need of them allowed others to live there (without asking for rent)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be generous with those who need it

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the generosity of the people of Makkah. After the death of Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr and Umar, people were still allowed to live in their houses without having to pay rent. This shows that even after their death, they continued to be generous with those who needed it. It also teaches us that we should be generous with those who are less fortunate than us and help them out whenever we can. We should also remember that our actions will continue to have an impact on others even after we are gone.
