Sahih al-Bukhari 3385 (Book 60, Hadith 59) #3237
The Prophet's Instruction to Aisha

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) instructed Aisha to order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer, and she eventually complied.

Narrated Abu Musa: When the Prophet fell ill, he said, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer"'.Aisha said, "Abu Bakr is a soft-hearted person. The Prophet gave the same order again and she again gave the same reply. He again said, "Order Abu Bakr (to lead the prayer)! You are (like) the female companions of Joseph". Consequently Abu Bakr led the people in prayer in the life-time of the Prophet.

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey Allah's commands without hesitation or question as He knows best what is good for us even if we do not understand it at first glance .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of obedience and leadership. It was narrated by Abu Musa that when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ fell ill, he asked Aisha to order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. At first, Aisha hesitated because she thought that Abu Bakr was too soft-hearted for such a task. However, the Prophet ﷺ insisted and reminded her of how female companions of Joseph obeyed him without hesitation. Eventually, Aisha complied with his instructions and Abu Bakr led the people in prayer during his lifetime. This hadith teaches us that obedience is important even if we don't understand why something is being asked of us or if we think someone else may be better suited for a task than ourselves; it also shows us how important it is for leaders to be humble yet firm when leading others. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us that we should always strive to obey Allah's commands without hesitation or question as He knows best what is good for us even if we do not understand it at first glance.
