SUMMARY: Umrah during Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said: "Umrah during Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj".

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform an umraah or hajj with extra care and dedication during ramadan
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith from Ibn 'Abbas states that performing an Umrah during the month of Ramadan is equal in reward to performing a Hajj. An Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca that can be done at any time throughout the year, while a Hajj must be performed during specific days in the Islamic calendar. Both are acts of worship and devotion to Allah, but it appears that performing an Umrah during the month of Ramadan has special significance due to its additional reward. This hadith encourages Muslims to take advantage of this opportunity by making sure they perform their obligatory acts such as prayer and fasting with extra care and dedication during this blessed month.
