The Equivalence of 'Umrah and Hajj

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) said that performing 'Umrah during Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj.

It was narrated from Abu Ma’qil that the Prophet said: " 'Umrah during Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj".

TOPICS
umrah  *  ramadan  *  hajj

QUICK LESSONS:
Perform ‘umra during ramadan .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that performing 'Umrah during the month of Ramadan is equal in reward to performing the pilgrimage of Hajj. This means that if a person performs an 'Umrah during this blessed month, they will receive the same reward as if they had performed a full pilgrimage to Makkah. It is important to note that this does not replace or substitute for the obligation of Hajj, but rather it serves as an additional blessing from Allah for those who are able to perform it. Additionally, this hadith encourages us to take advantage of every opportunity we have in order to increase our rewards and draw closer to Allah.
