QUICK LESSONS:
Perform ‘Umra during Ramadhan with sincerity and devotion
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teaches us that performing an 'Umrah during the month of Ramadhan is equal to performing a Hajj in terms of reward. An 'Umrah is a pilgrimage to Makkah and it involves circumambulating the Ka'bah seven times and walking between Safa and Marwah seven times. A Hajj is also a pilgrimage to Makkah but it involves more rituals than an 'Umrah such as standing at Arafah, spending time at Muzdalifah, throwing stones at Jamarat, sacrificing an animal etc. Both these pilgrimages are acts of worship which bring great rewards from Allah SWT if done with sincerity and devotion. Therefore this hadith encourages us to perform 'Umra during Ramadhan as it will bring us closer to Allah SWT and increase our rewards manifold.
