Encouraging Hajj Despite Illness

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged a sick person to perform Hajj and said that they should exit Ihram from the point where they are prevented.

It was narrated that Duba’ah said: "The Messenger of Allah entered upon me when I was unwell. He said: 'Do you intend to perform Hajj this year?’ I said: 'I am sick, O Messenger of Allah.’ He said: 'Go for Hajj and say: "I will exit Ihram from the point where I am prevented.’"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ ضُبَاعَةَ، قَالَتْ دَخَلَ عَلَىَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ ـ وَأَنَا شَاكِيَةٌ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ أَمَا تُرِيدِينَ الْحَجَّ الْعَامَ ‏"‏ قُلْتُ إِنِّي لَعَلِيلَةٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ حُجِّي وَقُولِي مَحِلِّي حَيْثُ تَحْبِسُنِي

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for his kindness and compassion towards others. This hadith is an example of this as he encouraged Duba’ah to perform the pilgrimage of Hajj despite being unwell. He advised her to exit Ihram from the point where she is prevented due to her illness. This hadith teaches us that we should not give up on our goals even if we face obstacles or difficulties in our way. We should strive hard and seek help from Allah SWT in order for us to achieve our goals. It also teaches us that we should be kind and compassionate towards those who are facing difficulties or hardships in their lives as it will bring them comfort and hope during difficult times.
