Sunan Ibn Majah 2912 (Book 25, Hadith 31) #32266
Performing Hajj After Childbirth

SUMMARY: A woman named Asma' bint 'Umais gave birth to a son while on Hajj with the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) instructed her to take a bath and perform all the rituals of Hajj except for circumambulating the House.

It was narrated from Abu Bakr that he went out for Hajj with the Messenger of Allah , and Asma’ bint 'Umais was with him. She gave birth, at Shajarah, to Muhammad bin Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr came to the Prophet and told him about that, and the Messenger of Allah told him to tell her to take a bath, then begin the Talbiyah for Hajj, and to do everything that the people did, apart from circumambulating the House (Tawaf).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about performing the rituals of Hajj after childbirth. It was narrated from Abu Bakr that he went out for Hajj with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Asma’ bint 'Umais was with him. She gave birth at Shajarah to Muhammad bin Abu Bakr. When Abu Bakr informed the Prophet ﷺ about this, he instructed her to take a bath and begin Talbiyah for hajj and do everything that other people did except circumambulating around Kaaba or Tawaf. This hadith teaches us that even if we are in an unusual situation like childbirth during hajj we should still try our best to perform all its rituals as much as possible without compromising our health or safety. It also shows us how important it is for us to follow instructions given by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in order to gain maximum reward from Allah SWT during our pilgrimage journey.
