Sahih al-Bukhari 3372 (Book 60, Hadith 46) #3224
Seeking Strength in Faith

SUMMARY: Abraham and Lot were both believers in Allah, but they still asked for more faith and strength to be able to stay strong in their beliefs.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "We are more liable to be in doubt than Abraham when he said, 'My Lord! Show me how You give life to the dead". . He (ie Allah) slid: 'Don't you believe then?' He (ie Abraham) said: "Yes, but (I ask) in order to be stronger in Faith". (2.260) And may Allah send His Mercy on Lot! He wished to have a powerful support. If I were to stay in prison for such a long time as Joseph did I would have accepted the offer (of freedom without insisting on having my guiltless less declared).

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in Allah even during difficult times; Ask Him for help; Remain steadfast on your path of righteousness; Do not give up hope no matter what happens; Be patient with trials and tribulations you face in life; Believe that everything happens according to His will.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of having faith and seeking strength from Allah. It is narrated by Abu Huraira that Prophet Muhammad said that even Abraham and Lot were not free from doubt when it came to their faith. They both asked for more strength so they could stay firm in their beliefs. The hadith also mentions the story of Joseph who was imprisoned for a long time but still did not accept freedom without his innocence being declared first. This shows us how important it is to have faith even when we are going through difficult times or facing challenges. We should always seek help from Allah and ask Him for strength so we can remain steadfast on our path of righteousness.
