The Battle of Hawazin

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a battle that took place between Abu Bakr and the people of an oasis belonging to Bani Fazarah.

It was narrated from Iyas bin Salamah bin Awka’, that his father said: "We attacked Hawazin, with Abu Bakr, during the time of the Prophet , and we arrived at an oasis belonging to Bani Fazarah during the last part of the night. We attacked at dawn, raiding the people of the oasis, and killed them, nine or seven households".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، أَنْبَأَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ غَزَوْنَا مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ هَوَازِنَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ فَأَتَيْنَا مَاءً لِبَنِي فَزَارَةَ فَعَرَّسْنَا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ الصُّبْحُ شَنَنَّاهَا عَلَيْهِمْ غَارَةً فَأَتَيْنَا أَهْلَ مَاءٍ فَبَيَّتْنَاهُمْ فَقَتَلْنَاهُمْ تِسْعَةً أَوْ سَبْعَةَ أَبْيَاتٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a battle that took place between Abu Bakr and the people of an oasis belonging to Bani Fazarah. It was narrated by Iyas bin Salamah bin Awka, whose father was present during the battle. The Prophet Muhammad was also present at this time. During the last part of the night, they attacked at dawn and raided the people in the oasis, killing nine or seven households in total. This hadith teaches us that we should be prepared for any situation and be ready to defend ourselves if necessary. It also shows us how important it is to have faith in Allah and trust His plan for us even when things seem difficult or uncertain. We should always strive to do what is right even if it means going against popular opinion or facing danger head on.
