The Number of Companions on Badr Day

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the number of companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) being similar to the number of companions who crossed the river with Talut.

It was narrated that Bara’ bin 'Azib said: "We were talking about how, on the Day of Badr, the Companions of the Messenger of Allah numbered three hundred ten and something, the same number as the Companions of (Talut) who crossed the river with him, and no one crossed the river with him but a believer".

This hadith speaks about how many people were present at the Battle of Badr. It was narrated by Bara bin 'Azib that on that day there were three hundred and ten companions with Prophet Muhammad PBUH. This is a significant number as it was also the same amount as those who crossed a river with Talut in another story from Islamic history. This hadith teaches us to be steadfast in our faith and have courage when facing difficult situations like crossing a river or going into battle. It also shows us how important it is to have faith in Allah and His Messenger PBUH no matter what situation we are faced with.
