Rewards of Martyrdom

SUMMARY: The martyr is rewarded with six blessings from Allah, including forgiveness, a place in Paradise, protection from the Great Fright and intercession for seventy of his relatives.

It was narrated from Miqdam bin Ma’dikarib that the Messenger of Allah said: "The martyr has six things (in store) with Allah: He is forgiven from the first drop of his blood that is shed; he is shown his place in Paradise; he is spared the torment of the grave; he is kept safe from the Great Fright; he is adorned with a garment of faith; he is married to (wives) from among the wide-eyed houris; and he is permitted to intercede for seventy of his relatives".
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِيكَرِبَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لِلشَّهِيدِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ سِتُّ خِصَالٍ يُغْفَرُ لَهُ فِي أَوَّلِ دَفْعَةٍ مِنْ دَمِهِ وَيُرَى مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَيُجَارُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَيَأْمَنُ مِنَ الْفَزَعِ الأَكْبَرِ وَيُحَلَّى حُلَّةَ الإِيمَانِ وَيُزَوَّجُ مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ وَيُشَفَّعُ فِي سَبْعِينَ إِنْسَانًا مِنْ أَقَارِبِهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the rewards that a martyr receives from Allah. It states that when a person dies as a martyr, they are forgiven for their sins right away and are shown their place in paradise. They will also be spared the torment of the grave and kept safe from the Great Fright. Additionally, they will be adorned with a garment of faith and married to wide eyed houris. Lastly, they will be permitted to intercede for seventy of their relatives. These rewards show how much Allah values those who sacrifice themselves in His cause and how He rewards them generously for it.
