Ask Allah sincerely from your heart; Strive to reach higher levels of faith and piety; Do good deeds/actions; Have sincere intentions when asking something from Allah .

This hadith speaks about the status of martyrdom and how it can be achieved. It is narrated by Sahl bin Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif that Prophet Muhammad said that whoever asks Allah for martyrdom from his heart sincerely, Allah will grant him the status of a martyr even if he dies in his bed.
