Forbidden Adultery and its Consequences

SUMMARY: Adultery is forbidden and any child born from it will not be able to inherit from the father.

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu’aib, from his father, from his grandfather that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever commits adultery with a slave woman or a free woman, his child is illegitimate, and he cannot inherit from him or be inherited from (ie, this child cannot inherit from him)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Abstain from committing adultery.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that adultery is forbidden in Islam. It also states that if a man commits adultery with either a slave woman or a free woman then the child born from this act will not be able to inherit anything from the father nor can they be inherited by him. This means that any wealth or property of the father cannot be passed on to this illegitimate child. The hadith also implies that it is important for Muslims to stay away from such acts as it has serious consequences for both parties involved as well as their children. It teaches us about responsibility and accountability for our actions and how we should think before we act in order to avoid such situations in life.
