This hadith explains the rights of women to receive inheritance from three different sources. The second source is a foundling whom the woman has raised; this means that if a woman takes in and raises an orphaned child then they are entitled to an inheritance from their adoptive mother. Lastly, the third source is her own child concerning whom she swore in Lian that he was legitimate; this means that if there are any doubts about whether or not one's own child is legitimate then they can swear in Lian and their child will be eligible for an inheritance. This hadith emphasizes the importance of protecting women's rights when it comes to receiving inheritances.
