Limits on Punishment According to Islam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that no one should be given more than ten lashes, except in the case of one of the legal punishments prescribed by Allah.

It was narrated from Abu Burdah bin Niyar that the Messenger of Allah used to say: "No one should be given more than ten lashes, except in the case of one of the legal punishments of Allah (SWT)".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect for law , Follow His laws .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that punishment should not be excessive and should only be done according to what is prescribed by Allah. The Prophet Muhammad taught that no one should receive more than ten lashes as a punishment, unless it is part of a legal punishment from Allah. This means that people cannot take justice into their own hands and punish someone excessively or without following the laws set out by Allah. It also teaches us to respect the laws set out by God and not try to go beyond them when punishing someone for something they have done wrong. We must remember that we are all accountable for our actions before God, so we must always strive to do what is right and follow His laws in order to receive His mercy and blessings.
