QUICK LESSONS:
Respect other people's property and belongings. Do not steal from anyone else.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that stealing is a serious crime and should be punished accordingly. The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that if someone steals something of value equal to or greater than a shield, then their hand should be cut off as punishment. This serves as a deterrent to others who may consider stealing and also shows how seriously Allah takes this crime. It also teaches us about justice and fairness in punishments; if someone commits a crime they must face the consequences of their actions.
