Punishment for Sins of People of Lut

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) commanded that those who commit the same sins as the people of Lut should be killed.

It was narrated from Ibn'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lut, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ وَجَدْتُمُوهُ يَعْمَلُ عَمَلَ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ فَاقْتُلُوا الْفَاعِلَ وَالْمَفْعُولَ بِهِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the punishment for committing sins similar to those committed by the people of Lut. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ commanded that anyone found guilty should be killed, regardless if they are the one committing it or receiving it. This hadith serves as a reminder to us all that Allah has set laws and punishments for certain actions and we must abide by them in order to stay on His path. It also teaches us that we must not commit any sin, no matter how small, because Allah will punish us accordingly. We must strive to stay away from any action which goes against His teachings and laws in order to receive His mercy and blessings in this life and hereafter.
