Pawning Armor for Food

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) bought food from a Jew and paid for it by pawning his armor.

It was narrated from 'Aisha that : the Messenger of Allah bought some food from a Jew with payment to be made later, and he pawned his armor for that.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنِي الأَسْوَدُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ اشْتَرَى مِنْ يَهُودِيٍّ طَعَامًا إِلَى أَجَلٍ وَأَرْهَنَهُ دِرْعَهُ

We should also strive to help those who are less fortunate than us, even if it means sacrificing something of our own.
