Sunan Ibn Majah 2395 (Book 15, Hadith 6) #31747
Validity of Charity

SUMMARY: A man asked the Prophet ﷺ if his charity to his mother was valid and the Prophet ﷺ confirmed that it was.

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said: "A man came to the Prophet and said: 'I gave my mother a garden of mine, and she has died and has no other heir but me'. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Your charity is valid and your garden has been returned to you'. "

QUICK LESSONS:
Give generously in charity for both yourself & others around you .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about a man who gave a garden as charity to his mother before she passed away. He then asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ if this charity was still valid even though she had died and he had no other heirs. The Prophet ﷺ confirmed that it was indeed valid and that the garden should be returned to him. This teaches us about the importance of giving in charity, even when we are not sure if it will benefit us or not because Allah rewards those who give in His way regardless of whether they receive something in return or not. It also shows us how generous Allah is by returning what we have given away as an act of kindness even after death has taken place. We can learn from this hadith that giving in charity is an important part of our faith and should be done regularly for both ourselves and others around us so that we can reap its rewards both here on earth and in the hereafter.
