Sahih al-Bukhari 3319 (Book 59, Hadith 125) #3172
The Mercy of Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a prophet who was bitten by an ant and wanted to burn the entire dwelling place of the ants in retaliation. However, Allah revealed to him that it would have been enough to just burn one ant.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "Once while a prophet amongst the prophets was taking a rest underneath a tree, an ant bit him. He, therefore, ordered that his luggage be taken away from underneath that tree and then ordered that the dwelling place of the ants should be set on fire. Allah sent him a revelation:-- "Wouldn't it have been sufficient to burn a single ant? (that bit you): .

Trusting in God's justice & mercy , Forgiveness & Compassion towards all creatures regardless of size or strength .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the mercy and compassion of Allah towards His creation. It tells us that even though we may be wronged or hurt, we should not take matters into our own hands and seek revenge. Instead, we should trust in Allah's justice and leave it up to Him to decide what is best for us. The prophet in this hadith was so angry at being bitten by an ant that he wanted to burn down its entire dwelling place as punishment, but Allah revealed to him that it would have been enough just burning one ant instead. This teaches us that even when faced with injustice or harm, we must remain patient and trust in God's mercy instead of taking matters into our own hands.
