Sahih al-Bukhari 320 (Book 6, Hadith 25) #317
Praying During Menses

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) advised Fatima bint Abi Hubaish to give up prayers when she has her menses and take a bath after it is finished in order to start praying again.

Narrated 'Aisha: Fatima bint Abi Hubaish used to have bleeding in between the periods, so she asked the Prophet about it. He replied, "The bleeding is from a blood vessel and not the menses. So give up the prayers when the (real) menses begins and when it has finished, take a bath and start praying".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Islamic ruling regarding praying during menses. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised Fatima bint Abi Hubaish that the bleeding she was experiencing was not her menses, but from a blood vessel. He then instructed her to give up prayers when the real menses begins and take a bath after it has finished in order to start praying again. This hadith teaches us that women should not pray during their menstrual cycle, as this is considered impure according to Islamic teachings. It also teaches us that we should be mindful of our health and seek medical advice if we experience any unusual symptoms or changes in our bodies. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us of the importance of cleanliness and purity before engaging in any religious activities such as prayer or fasting.
