This hadith is about a group of people from the nation of Israel who were cursed by Allah and changed into rats. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was aware of this, as he told Ka'b that he did not see them except that they were cursed and changed into rats. He also said that if you put the milk of a she-camel in front of a rat, it will not drink it, but if the milk of a sheep is put in front of it, it will drink it. This shows us that even though we may not know what happened to these people or why they were cursed, we can still learn from their story by understanding that Allah's punishment can be severe for those who disobey Him. We should also remember to always seek knowledge from reliable sources such as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself so we can be sure our information is accurate.
