Prohibiting the Sale of Hablul-Habalah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ forbade selling Hablul-Habalah.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that : the Prophet forbade selling Hablul-Habalah.
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ حَبَلِ الْحَبَلَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of selling a certain type of goods known as ‘Hablul-Habalah’. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet forbade this type of trading. This hadith teaches us to be mindful and careful when it comes to our transactions and dealings in life. We should always make sure that we are not engaging in any activities or trades which are prohibited by Islam or any other religion for that matter. Furthermore, this hadith also serves as a reminder for us to be honest and truthful in all our dealings with others so that we can maintain good relationships with them.
