Fair Trade and Divine Provision

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ advised city-dwellers not to take advantage of Bedouins in trade, and that Allah will provide for them through one another.

It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that the Prophet said: "A city-dweller should not sell for a Bedouin. Leave people to (engage in trade) and Allah will grant them provision through one another".
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ دَعُوا النَّاسَ يَرْزُقُ اللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of fair trade between city-dwellers and Bedouins. The Prophet Muhammad advised city-dwellers not to take advantage of Bedouins in their trades, as it is unfair. He also reminded them that Allah will provide for them through one another, so they should trust in His divine provision. This hadith teaches us the importance of fairness and justice when engaging in any kind of trade or business, as well as trusting in Allah's divine plan for us all. It also reminds us that we should be generous with each other and help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
