QUICK LESSONS:
Teach others knowledge , Be generous when rewarding those who teach you something valuable
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of teaching others knowledge and accepting rewards for doing so. It is narrated by 'Ubadah bin Samit who taught people from Ahtus-Suffah Qur'an and how to write, and one of them gave him a bow as a reward. He asked the Messenger of Allah what he should do with this gift, to which he was told that if it would please him to have a necklace of fire placed around his neck, then he should accept it. This implies that accepting rewards for teaching is an act pleasing in the eyes of Allah. It also teaches us that we should be generous when rewarding those who teach us something valuable or beneficial; even if our reward may seem small or insignificant in comparison with what we received from them. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to seek knowledge as well as share our knowledge with others so they can benefit from it too.
