Think carefully before making any vows or promises ; Follow Islamic guidelines ; Fast regularly ; Respect oneself by covering one's head when going out in public ; Fulfill one's promises/vows if possible .

This hadith is about a woman who vowed to walk barefoot and bareheaded. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised her that it would be better for her to ride instead of walking, cover her head with something, and fast for three days. This hadith teaches us that we should think carefully before making any vows or promises because they can be difficult or even impossible to fulfill. We should also remember that Allah ﷻ has given us certain guidelines on how we should live our lives in order for us to be successful in this world and the hereafter. For example, women are required by Islamic law to cover their heads when they go out in public so it would not have been appropriate for this woman to go out without covering her head even if she was fulfilling a vow she made. Additionally, fasting is an important part of Islam which helps us become closer with Allah ﷻ so it was wise of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺto advise this woman not only fulfill her vow but also gain reward from Allah ﷻ by fasting three days as well.
