This hadith explains why we experience extreme weather conditions such as severe heat and bitter cold. It is because Allah has allowed the Hellfire to take two breaths, one in winter and one in summer. This means that when it takes a breath during winter, it causes a cold wave of air to spread across the world, while when it takes a breath during summer, it causes an intense heatwave. This is why we experience such drastic changes in temperature throughout the year. The hadith also teaches us that everything happens according to Allah's will and permission; even something as seemingly insignificant as allowing Hellfire to take two breaths can have an effect on our lives here on Earth.
