The Punishment for Not Paying Zakat

SUMMARY: On the Day of Resurrection, those who do not pay Zakat on their camels, sheep or cattle will be punished by them.

Abu Dharr narrated that: the Messenger of Allah said: "There is no now owner of camels, sheep or cattle who does not pay Zakat on them, but they will come on the Day of Resurrection as big and as fat as they ever were, butting him with their horns and trampling him with their hooves. Every time the of them has passed, the first of them will come back to him, until judgment is passed upon the people".

QUICK LESSONS:
Paying zakat on animals owned by oneself .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of paying zakat, which is a form of taxation in Islam. It teaches us that if we do not pay zakat on our animals such as camels, sheep and cattle, then we will be punished for it on the Day of Resurrection. The punishment will come in the form of these animals attacking us and trampling us with their hooves. Every time one animal passes by us, another one will come back to attack us again until judgment is passed upon all people. This hadith reminds us that Allah sees everything we do and that He rewards those who are obedient to Him and punishes those who disobey Him. We should always strive to obey Allah's commands so that we can avoid His punishment in this life and in the hereafter.
