Be honest and polite when declining an invitation to eat while fasting

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, teaches us the importance of being honest and polite when declining an invitation to eat while fasting. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that if we are invited to eat while we are fasting, we should politely say “I am fasting” instead of making up excuses or lying about why we cannot join them for a meal. This hadith encourages us to be truthful in our words and actions as well as respectful towards others even in difficult situations such as having to decline an invitation. We should also remember that politeness is a sign of good character which can help build strong relationships with those around us.
