The Forgiveness of Allah on Mondays and Thursdays

SUMMARY: Allah forgives every Muslim on Mondays and Thursdays, except for two who have forsaken one another.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays?" He said: "On Mondays and Thursdays Allah forgives every Muslim except two who have forsaken one another. He says: 'Leave these two until they reconcile.’"
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ كَانَ يَصُومُ الاِثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسَ ‏.‏ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ تَصُومُ يَوْمَ الاِثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ يَوْمَ الاِثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ فِيهِمَا لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ إِلاَّ مُهْتَجِرَيْنِ يَقُولُ دَعْهُمَا حَتَّى يَصْطَلِحَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the mercy of Allah and how He forgives all Muslims who fast on Mondays and Thursdays, except for two people who have forsaken each other. It is a reminder to us that we should always strive to reconcile with those whom we have wronged or hurt in any way. We should also remember that Allah is always willing to forgive us if we sincerely repent from our sins. This hadith also teaches us the importance of forgiveness in our lives, as it is only through forgiving others that we can be forgiven by Allah. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to make peace with those around us so that we can benefit from the mercy of Allah.
