The Forgiveness of Sins Through Fasting on 'Arafah

SUMMARY: Fasting on the Day of 'Arafah will lead to forgiveness of sins from the previous and following year.

It was narrated that Qatadah bin Nu’man said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever fasts the Day of 'Arafah, his sins of the previous and following year will be forgiven.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast on the Day Of Arafath

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Qatadah bin Numan states that fasting on the Day of 'Arafah will lead to forgiveness for sins committed in both the previous and following year. This is a great opportunity for Muslims to repent for their wrongdoings and start anew with a clean slate. It is important to note that this day falls during the month of Dhul-Hijjah, which is one of the holiest months in Islam, as it includes Hajj, one of its five pillars. Therefore, fasting on this day can be seen as an act that brings Muslims closer to Allah and allows them to seek His mercy and forgiveness. Additionally, it serves as a reminder that Allah's mercy is infinite and He always gives us chances to repent our mistakes if we are sincere in our repentance.
