Show respect towards those who have passed away; Treat each other with kindness even after death; Do not desecrate resting places; Remember we are all equal before Allah

The hadith narrated by Uqbah bin 'Amir emphasizes the importance of respecting the graves of Muslims. It is reported that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that it would be better for him to walk on a live coal or a sword than to walk on a Muslim's grave. He also stated that there was no difference between relieving oneself in the midst of graves or in the middle of a marketplace.
