Saying Takbir Four Times

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ instructed to say Takbir four times.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet said Takbir four times.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الرِّفَاعِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ كَبَّرَ أَرْبَعًا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Ibn 'Abbas and it states that the Prophet instructed to say Takbir four times. The word ‘Takbir’ means ‘to proclaim or exalt Allah’s greatness’. It is a way of expressing our love and devotion for Allah, as well as a way of praising Him for His greatness and power. By saying this phrase, we are also reminding ourselves of the importance of being humble before Allah and recognizing His authority over us. This hadith teaches us that we should take time out from our day to remember Allah and express our gratitude towards Him in whatever ways we can, such as through prayer or reciting verses from the Quran.
