SUMMARY: The Messenger of Allah commanded people to recite the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah) in the funeral prayer.

Umm Sharik Al-Ansari said: "The Messenger of Allah commanded us to recite the Opening of the Book (Al-Fatihah) in the funeral prayer".

QUICK LESSONS:
Recite Al Fatiah during funeral prayers.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Umm Sharik Al-Ansari states that Prophet Muhammad commanded us to recite the Opening of the Book, also known as Surat al Fatihah, during funeral prayers. This is an important part of Islamic tradition and is a way for Muslims to remember their deceased loved ones and ask Allah for mercy on them. It is also a reminder that death comes to all and that we should be prepared for it at all times. Furthermore, reciting this sura during funerals serves as a reminder that life is short and we should strive to do good deeds while we are alive so that our souls can be saved from punishment in the hereafter.
