EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of prayer in Islam. It was narrated by Jabir bin 'Abdullah that a person asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which prayer is best and he replied that it is the one with a longer Qunut. A qunut is an additional supplication made during certain prayers such as Witr or Fajr. It can be said in any language and usually includes praises to Allah, asking for His help, forgiveness and mercy. This hadith teaches us to make our prayers meaningful by adding extra supplications to them as this will increase their reward from Allah. We should also strive to make our qunuts longer so we can benefit more from them spiritually.
