EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the reward for praying at the Quba Mosque. It is narrated by Sahl bin Hunaif that Prophet Muhammad said that whoever purifies themselves in their home and then comes to the Quba Mosque to offer one prayer will receive a reward like that of performing an 'Umrah. An 'Umrah is a pilgrimage to Mecca which Muslims perform during certain times of year. It involves rituals such as circling around Kaaba seven times, walking between two hills called Safa and Marwa seven times, and shaving or cutting hair from head or beard. By saying this hadith, Prophet Muhammad was encouraging people to visit this mosque regularly for prayers as it has great rewards associated with it. He also wanted people to be mindful of their cleanliness before coming for prayers in any mosque or place of worship so that they can reap maximum benefits from their acts of worship.
