Salutations from the Angel Gabriel

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) informed 'Aisha that the angel Gabriel was sending his salutations to her, and she responded with salutations and blessings.

Narrated Abu Salama: 'Aisha said that the Prophet said to her "O 'Aisha' This is Gabriel and he sends his (greetings) salutations to you"'.Aisha said, "Salutations (Greetings) to him, and Allah's Mercy and Blessings be on him," and addressing the Prophet she said, "You see what I don't see".
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ قَالَ لَهَا ‏ "‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ، هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكِ السَّلاَمَ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَقَالَتْ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ‏.‏ تَرَى مَا لاَ أَرَى‏.‏ تُرِيدُ النَّبِيَّ ‏.‏

In this hadith narrated by Abu Salama, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ informed 'Aisha that the angel Gabriel was sending his salutations to her. She responded with salutations and blessings for him. This hadith teaches us about the importance of showing respect to those who are sent by Allah SWT as well as being grateful for His mercy and blessings. It also shows us how we should respond when we receive a greeting from someone else; we should return it with an even better greeting or blessing. Furthermore, it highlights 'Aisha's faith in Allah SWT and her trust in Prophet Muhammad ﷺ since she accepted what he said without questioning it even though she could not see what he saw.
