Seeking Refuge from the Fire

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was praying voluntary prayers at night and recited a Verse which mentioned punishment, then he sought refuge with Allah from the Fire.

It was narrated that Abu Laila said: "I prayed beside the Prophet when he was praying voluntary prayers at night. He recited a Verse which mentioned punishment and said: 'I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire, woe to the people of the Fire.’"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ أَبِي لَيْلَى، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تَطَوُّعًا فَمَرَّ بِآيَةِ عَذَابٍ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَوَيْلٌ لأَهْلِ النَّارِ
