Reciting Verses During Eid Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ used to recite two verses from the Quran during the Eid prayer.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet used to recite in the 'Eid prayer "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High". Al-A’la (87) and "Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming?" Al-Ghashiyah (88)
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ بِـ ‏{سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى }‏ وَ ‏{هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, used to recite two verses from the Quran during the Eid prayer. These verses are from Surah Al-Ala and Surah Al-Ghashiyah. In these verses, Allah is glorified and praised for His greatness and power. This teaches us that we should always remember Allah in our prayers and thank Him for all of His blessings. We should also strive to live our lives according to His teachings so that we can be rewarded in this life and in the hereafter.
