Supplicating for Rain

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) raised his hands in supplication for rain until the whiteness of his armpits was visible.

Mu’tamir narrated from his father, from Barakah, from Bashir bin Nahik, from Abu Hurairah: "The Prophet supplicated for rain (raising his hands) until I saw or one could see the whiteness of his armpits".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ بَرَكَةَ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ ـ اسْتَسْقَى حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ - أَوْ رُؤِيَ - بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ مُعْتَمِرٌ أُرَاهُ فِي الاِسْتِسْقَاءِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) supplications for rain. He raised his hands in prayer and supplication to Allah until the whiteness of his armpits was visible. This shows us how earnestly he prayed and how much faith he had that Allah would answer his prayers. It also teaches us that we should never give up hope when praying to Allah and that we should always have faith that our prayers will be answered. We can learn from this hadith to always put our trust in Allah and never lose hope when making duas or supplications to Him.
