This hadith is about following the instructions of an Imam during prayer. An Imam is a leader of a congregation and when he says “Allahu Akbar” which means “God is great” then everyone should say it too. When he bows down then everyone should bow down as well and when he says “Sami Allahu liman hamidah” which means “God listens to those who praise Him” then everyone should say it too. If the imam prays standing up then everyone should pray standing up and if he prays sitting down then everyone should pray sitting down as well. This hadith teaches us that we must follow our leaders in prayer and respond to their actions accordingly so that we can all pray together as one group.
